Assam BJP to start ‘Mahila Aakrosh’ campaign targeting Congress from April 23

Guwahati, April 20 :The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam has announced that it will roll out a statewide campaign titled ‘Mahila Aakrosh’ starting April 23.

State BJP president and Darrang-Udalguri MP Dilip Saikia said the campaign is aimed at drawing attention to what the party sees as failures of the Congress when it comes to issues affecting women.

Saikia said, the programme will be carried out across different parts of Assam, with party workers engaging directly with people at the grassroots level. The campaign is expected to include public meetings and outreach activities focusing on women-related concerns.

He also said the initiative is intended to highlight the BJP’s position on women’s welfare while also questioning the approach taken by the opposition.

The announcement comes at a time when political debate around women’s rights and representation continues to remain a key issue.
