
Shillong, April 21 : BJP national secretary Anil Antony on Monday said the party is working to expand its presence in Meghalaya and aims to play a bigger role in the state by 2028.
Speaking to reporters during his visit, Antony expressed confidence that the BJP’s influence will grow in the coming years.
He said the party is preparing to strengthen its position across the state, with a long-term goal of becoming a major political force.
On the delayed elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), Antony said the BJP had already completed much of its groundwork before the polls were postponed.

He added that candidates had been announced in most of the 29 seats and that the party’s campaign was already active.Referring to the previous council elections, where the BJP won two seats, Antony said the party is hopeful of improving its performance once the elections are held.
