Meghalaya Police receive 95 Vehicles worth ₹30 Crore to boost operations

The Meghalaya Police received 95 new vehicles on Thursday as part of a ₹30 crore initiative aimed at improving mobility, response time and policing at the grassroots level across the state.

SHILLONG :Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday flagged off 95 new vehicles for the Meghalaya Police, including mini trucks, buses and jeeps, under a ₹30 crore initiative to strengthen operational efficiency and mobility across the state.

According to the Chief Minister, the addition of the vehicles is expected to improve policing capabilities, response systems and outreach, particularly at the grassroots level.

“These additions will enhance policing capabilities, improve response and outreach, and help ensure that citizens feel safer and more secure across the State,” Sangma said.

He also thanked the police force for its service and contribution towards maintaining law and order in Meghalaya.

The vehicles are expected to support police units operating in different districts and improve transportation and field operations.
