IMPHAL : Two persons were killed and several houses were set ablaze after armed assailants attacked Kultuh village in Manipur’s Kamjong district early Thursday, according to police and local reports.

The deceased have been identified as Letminlun Haokip (34) and Lunminthang Haokip (36). Two other persons were reportedly injured in the attack, while several families fled the village as houses caught fire. The killings triggered widespread condemnation from Naga organisations and renewed concerns over the security situation in the state’s hill districts.
