
Shillong, May 9 :The Directorate of Higher and Technical Education (DHTE), Meghalaya, has asked several beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (CMSS) to urgently submit correct bank account details after scholarship payments failed due to errors in banking information.
According to an official press release issued on May 6, the payment process could not be completed for some students because of incorrect details such as bank account numbers, IFSC codes and bank names submitted during the application process.

Officials said the affected students must now provide updated and accurate banking details to enable the government to restart the payment process.
The department has requested beneficiaries to submit:a copy of the front page of their passbook,correct bank account number,IFSC code, andbank nameThe details are to be sent to the scholarship branch email: scholarshipregn@gmail.com

The Directorate clarified that the failed transaction list has been uploaded on the official notice board section of the Meghalaya Education Department website.Students have been advised to check whether their names appear on the list and respond as early as possible to avoid further delay in receiving scholarship payments.
Officials said the issue was identified following feedback received from banks during the transaction process.The department also shared helpline numbers for students facing difficulties or requiring clarification regarding the correction process.
The move is aimed at ensuring that eligible students receive their scholarship benefits without further interruption.
