Guwahati, April 20 : A youth was seriously injured after he was reportedly attacked with a stick by a woman in the Patharkuwari area on April 19, police said.
The incident happened at Shanti Nagar under the Noonmati Police Station. The injured person has been identified as Jekua Marak.
He was reportedly walking towards Patharkuwari from his home around 10 am, singing a song, when the incident took place. During that time, a woman from the area, identified as Namita Gwala, allegedly hit him with a stick.
The attack left him with a head injury and bleeding, and he is also said to have suffered injuries on other parts of his body.

Despite being hurt, Marak managed to reach Noonmati Police Station and filed a complaint. He reportedly carried the stick used in the incident with him while lodging the FIR.
Police have registered a case and said further investigation is ongoing.
