Shillong, April, 21 :Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Monday held a meeting with village head to discuss key issues affecting local communities.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong and minister Sosthenes Sohtun.
Several concerns were raised during the discussion, including water sources under the Jal Jeevan Mission, challenges faced by poultry and pig farmers due to low market prices, and the declining sale of local pigs.
The Chief Minister said the government is keen on promoting local pig farming and strengthening support for farmers in the state.Issues related to the power sector and the proposed express highway were also discussed.
The government said it will continue engaging with community leaders to address these concerns and work towards solutions.
