IMPHAL : The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) has strongly rejected allegations made by Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) linking the group to the deadly attack on Loibol Khullen village in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district.
In a statement issued on Friday, NSCN-IM dismissed the allegations as a “systematic fabrication, distortion and misinformation campaign” and denied any involvement in the incident.
The organisation alleged that the accusations were being circulated without credible evidence and were intended to shape public perception before the facts had been established.
The response followed a statement by Kuki Inpi Manipur accusing NSCN-IM and ZUF(K) of carrying out the pre-dawn attack on Loibol Khullen village that reportedly left three civilians dead and several houses destroyed.
Refuting the claims, NSCN-IM argued that assigning blame without a proper investigation undermines the principles of justice and due process.
The organisation further accused KIM of attempting to exploit a human tragedy for political purposes and of using the incident to advance what it described as a divisive narrative.
NSCN-IM also urged the public, civil society organisations, student bodies and media institutions to rely on verified information rather than unsubstantiated allegations.
It stressed the need for impartial investigations and responsible reporting, warning that misinformation could further inflame tensions in an already sensitive situation.
The organisation called for restraint from all sides and maintained that facts surrounding the incident should be established through lawful investigation rather than public accusations.
At the time of publication, authorities had not publicly identified or confirmed those responsible for the Loibol Khullen attack.
