SHILLONG — Two Meghalaya Police personnel won gold medals at the 75th All India Police Wrestling Cluster Championship (Arm Wrestling) held at the Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban, from September 23 to 27.
Wandalin Syiemiong won gold in the 60kg women’s category, while Alan Sun Marbaniang took gold in the 90kg men’s category.
Marbaniang also claimed the Overall Champion of Champions title and was named All India Strongest Man 2026.
The championship brought together 37 police teams from across the country.
Meghalaya Police said both athletes had previously won gold at the championship, praising their strength and continued dedication to the force.
The performances gave Meghalaya Police two gold medals at the national-level competition, with Marbaniang adding the overall and strongest-man titles to his individual victory.
