SHILLONG : The A·chik State Peoples’ Front (ASPF) has urged Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui to intervene in an appointment dispute at Rajabala Higher Secondary School in West Garo Hills, alleging that a candidate selected through due process has been prevented from joining duty.
In a representation submitted on June 29, the organisation claimed that Sohil S. Sangma was appointed as Menial/Chowkidar after a selection process conducted by the Special Interim Managing Committee and was issued an appointment order dated June 12, 2026. However, the ASPF alleged that the school’s Vice Principal has refused to allow the candidate to assume charge despite the appointment order. The organisation said the delay has raised concerns over the integrity of the recruitment process and called for immediate intervention by the Education Department.
The representation further stated that the appointment superseded an earlier temporary appointment and referred to documents relating to the constitution of the Special Interim Managing Committee following the dissolution of the previous School Managing Committee.
The ASPF has appealed to the Education Minister to ensure that the selected candidate is allowed to join duty without further delay and to safeguard the transparency of the recruitment process.
