SHILLONG: Meghalaya is set to adopt key features of Telangana’s Integrated Command and Control Centre (IC&CC) as part of its efforts to strengthen governance through technology, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said on Thursday.

Sangma made the announcement after visiting the state-of-the-art Integrated Command and Control Centre in Hyderabad, describing it as one of the best examples in the country of how technology can improve governance and public service delivery. “The strength of the IC&CC is not only the technology it uses but also the strong coordination between different government departments,” the Chief Minister said.

Meghalaya will closely study Telangana’s operational model and identify best practices that can be replicated in the state to improve coordination, emergency response and citizen services the Chief Minister said. Calling the Hyderabad facility a benchmark for technology-driven governance, Sangma said the system effectively combines real-time data, advanced technology and inter-departmental collaboration to deliver efficient public services.”It serves as an excellent model for states across India, including Meghalaya, as we work towards using technology to improve governance and citizen service delivery,” he said.

The Chief Minister added that learning from successful governance models in other states remains an important part of Meghalaya’s efforts to build a more efficient, responsive and technology-driven administration.
