Shillong, April 21 : Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has announced a new initiative called CM Inspire, aimed at supporting youth from Meghalaya preparing for civil services.
The scheme offers financial assistance to reduce the burden of UPSC preparation. Candidates who clear the Preliminary examination will receive ₹50,000, while those who qualify for the Mains will be given ₹1 lakh.
The move comes at a time when representation from the state has dropped.
“No indigenous candidate from Meghalaya has entered the IAS since 2013,” he said.
