Party members prayed for the souls of Revered Vumthang Sitlhou, Reverend Kaigoulun Lhouvum and Pastor Paogoulen Sitlhou, and expressed solidarity with families affected by the ongoing violence in Manipur.

The prayer service was led by BJP state vice-president Khrawboklang Basaiawmoit, who spoke about the importance of love, forgiveness and peace during difficult times.

He said communities must reject hatred and violence and work towards understanding and reconciliation.

Party chief spokesperson Mariahom Kharkrang urged BJP members in Meghalaya to continue praying for the people of Manipur, saying many families have suffered due to the prolonged unrest

He also stressed the need to protect Meghalaya’s communal harmony and encouraged people from different communities to respect and participate in each other’s cultural traditions.

BJP leader Fenela Lyngdoh Nonglait described the killings as deeply disturbing and called for peace and justice. She expressed hope that those responsible for the crime would be identified and brought to justice.

The meeting concluded with prayers for peace, healing and stability in Manipur.
