SHILLONG — More than 70 educators in Ri Bhoi district have been brought under a new digital professional development programme aimed at improving classroom teaching and teachers’ skills.
The District Administration launched the Continuous Professional Development Programme on September 17 in collaboration with NITI Aayog and Bharti Airtel Foundation at the DSEO Conference Hall in Ri Bhoi. The programme uses TheTeacherApp, a digital platform that provides teachers with free self-paced courses, expert-led webinars, classroom learning resources and AI-enabled tools.
The platform is intended to help teachers access training materials regularly and apply new teaching methods in their classrooms without depending entirely on conventional training programmes.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Abhishek Saini, IAS, attended the launch along with senior education officials and representatives of Bharti Airtel Foundation.
The initiative focuses on continuous teacher training, technology-enabled learning and the use of innovative teaching practices across government schools in the district.
The programme is part of the district administration’s collaboration with NITI Aayog and Bharti Airtel Foundation to strengthen teacher capacity and classroom learning in Ri Bhoi.
