Prestone Tynsong says Ricky Syngkon speaks ‘Five minutes maximum’ in Parliament

Shillong ,May 13 : A video of Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong commenting on the Parliament speaking time of late Shillong MP Ricky Andrew J. Syngkon has been circulating widely on social media.

In the video, recorded during an election campaign speech, Tynsong claimed that Syngkon spoke for “five minutes maximum” in the Lok Sabha.

“If you don’t believe me, go and watch the Parliament proceedings,” he said.

Tynsong further remarked that even before the late MP began speaking, interruptions were made asking him to sit down.

“Sit down, sit down, because we don’t know from where you come from,” he said while referring to interruptions allegedly faced by Syngkon in Parliament.

The Deputy Chief Minister made the remarks while campaigning for Dr DRL Nonglait, the NPP candidate for the Shillong bypoll, who is contesting against VPP candidate Dr Batskhem Myrboh.

The video has since drawn reactions on social media and political circles.
