The viral “Cockroach Janta Party” meme campaign.

A strange new political meme trend called the “Cockroach Janta Party” (CJP) has gone viral across Indian social media platforms, flooding X, Instagram, Reddit, and Facebook with parody posters, fake campaign slogans, and satirical political content.

The trend reportedly began after online users reacted to controversial courtroom remarks linked to Supreme Court Justice Surya Kant during a hearing related to coaching centres and unemployed youth.

Soon after clips and discussions from the hearing circulated online, social media users began using the word “cockroach” sarcastically in memes and political jokes.

Within days, users created a fictional political movement called the “Cockroach Janta Party.”

The trend quickly gained traction online. Several parody posters showed fake election campaigns, humorous membership drives, and slogans such as “Where did the money go?” and “Together, we survive.”

Some users also created AI-generated campaign graphics and fictional manifestos mocking unemployment, rising competition, exam paper leaks, inflation, and frustration among young job seekers.

One user on X wrote: “Finally a political party that represents unemployed people honestly.” Another Facebook user commented: “Indian internet always turns anger into memes.”

There is no actual political party registered under the name. The movement exists entirely online as satire and meme culture. However, the trend has triggered wider conversations around unemployment, student pressure, coaching culture, and frustration among sections of India’s youth.

Some lawyers have also cautioned people against taking edited social media clips or isolated courtroom remarks out of context without referring to official proceedings.

Despite that, the “Cockroach Janta Party” trend continues to grow online, with parody content and memes still spreading rapidly across platforms.
